International Day of Yoga
This year's theme for IDY was 'yoga is yours', and so I thought long and hard about what message I wanted to share. And what I came up with was belonging.
When I first discovered yoga 10 years ago, yoga was not mine. I felt like I didn't belong, there was a lack of connection and it was a purely physical practice. From my first few experiences to now, I discovered that my dharma is for people to feel seen. To belong.
We each hold the power to make others feel welcome and a part of something.
And with that we have a choice; to actively include or passively exclude.
Inclusion starts with connection. And how I authentically connect best is through laughter.
So enjoy this playlist that's light, upbeat, funky and a little bit silly.
I acknowledge the traditional territory and honour the Ancestors, the Kwikwetlem First Nations people and all the relations who walked this land long before we gathered at Lafarge Lake. I acknowledge, honour and respect, with gratitude, this beautiful place where I live, work and play - the Coast Salish Nations.
